How to choosing a density for wood weight

Record the inputs

Material state

Identify actual dimensions, moisture condition and grain direction before selecting a density or movement coefficient. Do not mix green, air-dry, oven-dry or product-average values without following the source method.

Cutting state

Use the truly usable stock or sheet size after trim and defects. Measure kerf from the intended process and keep grain-constrained parts separate from rotation-allowed parts.

Review

Treat the result as a planning estimate. Verify material, cut sequence, machine clearance, joinery and final fit in the shop.
